Rhoda Lohier, MS CCE, owner of RML Skincare services says she really offers higher self esteem to those afflicted with unwanted body hair. If satisfied clients are any indication, then she must be succeeding. RML skincare is known by many and especially Adelaide, who has been a client of Rhoda’s for a little more than a year now. She started with needing hair removal from her face and has graduated to other areas of her body since the first area is now free of unwanted hairs. Adelaide describes the RML Skincare office as an atmosphere of comfort and support. She feels that Rhoda’s clear knowledge of her craft as she explains the process during her consultation helped her understand just what electrolysis is all about.
Rhoda earned the right to claim herself a specialist when two well known dermatologists began referring their difficult case clients to her. After graduation from college with a masters in human resources management in 1995, she remained in New York City and worked with a large firm as an Human Resource Associate. Her two-year stay at this company helped her appreciate the finesse required in servicing people with a need to feel more secure in their work and personal lives. After two years with this firm, Rhoda considered a career change and studied electrology at the New York Institute of Electrolysis. An area which can benefit her as well, since she also had a problem with unwanted facial hair.
She began working part-time out of her apartment as an electrologist both to herself and to others. Clients raved about how good she is and boasted success at a much faster rate than they expected. So, the word began to spread as more clients came knocking on her door. Although she had a wonderful job with the firm, Rhoda knew she would have to commit more time to the practice of electrology and so she left the corporate world.
After receiving her certificate from the New York Institute of Electrolysis, she looked for employment with other electrologists, but was not successful. Spas were not willing to cater to specific problems regarding folliculitis barbae (ingrown hair follicles). It is during that period did Rhoda establish herself as a full-time electrologist. With the help of her existing clientele and family, Rhoda officially started what is now RML Skincare.
Rhoda has since become a licensed permanent makeup artist and offers microdermabrasion as part of her services. Her specialty is in the treatment of dark skin, problem skin and difficult cases of hair removal for which she has developed a specific method of treatment.
Rhoda was awarded the CharlesB. Benenson Entrepreneur of the year for 2005 for her progress in business and success with her clients.
