Facial and body hair removal has become increasingly popular, especially within the last three years. Hair removal never was a very complicated procedure, and some of the methods can even be done at home. But today, hair removal is accomplished faster than in the recent past, thanks to improvements in technology.
Until relatively recently, people between the ages of 17 and 99 waxed, plucked, bleached and applied depilatory creams, to remove unwanted hair. These temporary methods had to be repeated once the hair grew back. Electrolysis is the only method for permanent hair removal. Women comprise the vast majority of hair-removal patients, opting most often to rid their bodies of hair on their upper lip, chin, neck, cheeks, bikini line, legs, underarms and around the navel. Men also have unsightly hair removed from their beard (ingrowns), back, chest, eyebrows, shoulders and legs.
